It’s almost laughable how often the American left tries to peddle lies about socialism. The latest embarrassment? Socialists here in the U.S. keep claiming that countries like Sweden and Norway are shining examples of socialism in action. They can’t stop talking about these places as proof that socialism “works.” Yet, this claim falls apart the second you look at the facts.
For anyone paying attention, Sweden and Norway are not socialist. Far from it. They might have high taxes and government programs, but their economies run on strong, healthy capitalism. People in those countries actually get to keep more of their paychecks than you’d expect. And guess what? Big businesses thrive there. There’s no secret socialist utopia—there’s a market system where people are free to build, compete, and succeed.
It’s exhausting to watch American progressives twist reality to fit their broken worldview. They ignore the truth and push the fantasy that socialism breeds innovation and wealth. The left’s favorite talking point about these so-called “socialist” nations is nothing but a lazy attempt to trick Americans. They’re desperate to sell socialism by faking proof of its success somewhere else.
The truth is, socialists here are clueless about even the basics of global economics. If they bothered to look beyond their echo chambers, they’d see that Scandinavian countries are models of personal responsibility, economic freedom, and business success. These are not values the left is known for supporting. But liberals will say anything if it helps them push their failing agenda.
Maybe it’s time for the so-called socialist experts in America to open a history book—or take a vacation to Scandinavia, and see free markets in action. How much longer will Americans put up with this nonsense from the socialist crowd who wouldn’t know real socialism if it hit them on the head?
