Socialists Celebrate as NYC Government Wipes Out Family Businesses

If anyone still doubts that radical leftists want to crush free enterprise right here in America, just look at what’s happening in New York City. Now, the socialists aren’t even hiding it. NYC’s own Democratic Socialists of America are cheering on the collapse of private businesses, boldly claiming that if a small store is bankrupted by a government-run grocery, well, that business didn’t “deserve” to exist in the first place.

This is the kind of big government lunacy you’d expect in a socialist dictatorship, not the United States. The message is clear: If you work hard, take risks, and build a local business, big government will send you straight to the unemployment line the minute they want to “compete” with you. Forget rewarding initiative or the American dream—these radical leftists want the government to decide who wins and who loses.

It’s rich coming from the same crowd that preaches “fairness” and “equity.” They claim they care about “the little guy,” but they’ll gladly bulldoze neighborhood stores and put families out of work in the name of their utopian schemes. It’s the height of hypocrisy: leftist elites, enjoying cozy government jobs, destroying the backbone of the local economy and acting as if they’re doing us all a favor.

The arrogance here is staggering. How dare a bureaucrat in city hall declare that a private store—often run by hardworking immigrants or lifelong New Yorkers—should have never existed at all just because the government can’t resist meddling in the market?
