This wasn’t just some “mistake.” It was a years-long, calculated scheme to grease the palms of border bureaucrats — all to sidestep inspections and make a quick buck. And who got hurt? Ordinary Americans, once again, as this corruption helped dangerous Mexican cartel operations.
Instead of facing real consequences, Scoular is getting a three-year slap on the wrist with a “deferred prosecution agreement.” They’ll pay their fine, promise to play nice next time, and call it a day. The Washington bureaucrats will pat themselves on the back for “fighting corruption,” but everyone knows this is just business as usual. The company dodged $6.5 million worth of fees, all while $400,000 in bribes worked their way straight into cartel hands. That’s right: American companies are greasing the wheels for the same criminal gangs that are flooding our country with drugs and violence.
While the company claims they didn’t know bribes helped the cartels, that’s just another excuse. Anyone who does business at the U.S.-Mexico border knows how corrupt the process is. Bribery is the name of the game, and the only people winning are the crooked officials and the drug lords counting their cash. Meanwhile, these same globalists expect the American people to trust their “ethics programs,” “updated codes of conduct,” and so-called reforms. It’s laughable. If past behavior tells us anything, it’s that corporate America doesn’t care who gets hurt— as long as their shipments make it across the border without delay.

It’s time to wake up. No company should ever get away with putting American lives on the line just to boost the bottom line. Bribing foreign officials and handing hundreds of thousands of dollars, knowingly or not, into cartel pockets is not business as usual—it’s betrayal. Our leaders have to stop making excuses and start defending the American people. How many times do we need to get burned before we slam the door shut on this cross-border corruption? The only thing crossing those tracks nowadays is a trainload of crime, and Washington just keeps looking the other way.
