America’s Medical Schools Have Gone Woke—and Patients Will Pay the Price
There was a time when medical schools in this country valued facts, skill, and integrity above all else. Today, it’s clear those days are over. The woke mob has now hijacked America’s top universities—even our medical schools are more focused on feelings, “social justice,” and radical ideologies like DEI and CRT than actually teaching medicine. The latest victim? One of the world’s greatest living physicians, a 97-year-old dermatologist with more medical experience than the entire UCSF “diversity committee” combined.
The facts are shocking. Instead of honoring a man whose research saves lives and has improved medicine for more than sixty years, the University of California San Francisco threw him under the bus. Why? Because a handful of angry activists demanded it. Their complaint? Medical research done in the 1960s—decades ago—supposedly didn’t meet the “enlightened” woke standards of today. Never mind that these experiments were legal, ethical, and even included the doctor himself as a volunteer. What matters to woke zealots is signaling their own virtue and trashing anyone who doesn’t fit their ever-shifting moral guidelines.
Let’s be honest: This isn’t about “justice” or “reconciliation.” It’s about power. Radical leftists have invented new ways to hunt for racism everywhere. Now it’s not enough to tear down statues and rewrite American history—they want to rewrite the entire history of medicine. According to the left, if you’re a white, accomplished, Jewish doctor, your decades of work mean nothing. All that matters is whether you check the right boxes or bow to their new religion of DEI. Imagine what happens to young doctors today—they’re told that success is oppression, that facts are bias, and that science is offensive if it hurts someone’s feelings.
The university didn’t just abandon a legendary doctor—it sided with the mob. UCSF’s top brass lined up to issue groveling apologies, desperate to appease young social justice warriors who, frankly, have accomplished nothing but stirring up division. These administrators are supposed to protect academic freedom and the pursuit of truth, not cave to angry mobs spouting the latest left-wing dogma. Instead, they chose cowardice, helping to destroy the very institution they’re supposed to lead.
This woke rot isn’t contained to UCSF. Across America, medical schools are on a crash course with disaster, marching in step with leftist ideologues who think that a doctor’s “lived experience” is more important than medical skill. If you dare question this cult, you’re branded a bigot and risk being canceled. It’s the same absurd playbook we’ve seen everywhere: A handful of radical activists scream “racism,” and spineless leaders do their bidding. Patients will pay the price as real science is replaced by political correctness and victimhood.
If this is the future of medicine in America—where surgeons care more about “equity training” than holding a scalpel steady—does anyone feel safe? Who’ll be left to heal the sick when the best minds are pushed aside in favor of social engineers?
