Just look at history. Back in the 1970s, oil prices didn’t just creep up—they exploded. Did anyone in Washington care to find out why? Of course not. OPEC slammed on the brakes, Democrats whined about Big Oil, and taxes on every barrel soared. Liberal politicians stampeded toward a “windfall profits tax” in a fit of anti-capitalist rage. Guess what happened? Oil went from costing pocket change to becoming a luxury, and inflation rocketed into the double digits. The American worker paid the price, while Democrats blamed everyone but themselves.
Fast forward to Obama’s time. Washington spent cash hand over fist with so-called “stimulus” packages and endless bailouts. If the left’s favorite story was true—if inflation was just about the money supply—the country should have drowned in worthless dollars. But inflation barely twitched. Why? Because even with all that reckless spending, Obama didn’t strangle America’s energy production. Prices stayed steady until Biden walked into office and started bulldozing pipelines and shutting down drilling, all to please the radical green mob. The result? Inflation came roaring back the minute real resources got cut off.
Here’s what the so-called “experts” get wrong, every single time: people don’t start bidding up bread to $4 a loaf just because there’s more money in the system. They do it because there’s less bread—or the cost to make bread keeps going up thanks to higher taxes, energy costs, or government meddling. When politicians make oil harder to get, everything in America—delivered by truck, made with petrochemicals, grown with harvesters—gets more expensive. Every time.
Liberals never learn, or maybe they just don’t care. For them, blaming “greed” and “Big Oil” is easier than looking in the mirror. The left loves to talk about socialism, about taking from the rich to “help” the poor. But at the end of the day, all these schemes do is rob the middle class, wreck jobs, jack up prices, and call it justice. Their economic theories aren’t just wrong—they’re dangerous.
