Yet again, the bully boys of Iran are running their mouths, this time telling President Trump to worry about his own personal safety. That’s what passes for “diplomacy” in Tehran—thinly veiled threats when America dares to defend its interests. It’s laughable, but it’s also dangerous. The Strait of Hormuz isn’t just some random patch of water. It’s a key artery of global oil, and Iran knows it. The mullahs threaten it because they think they can push the U.S. around—especially after years of appeasement from feckless Democrats and weak-kneed globalists.
Liberals want to pretend that Iran is just misunderstood. They spin wild stories about how American strength is somehow what makes the world less safe. But who do these Iranian officials threaten? Certainly not the likes of Biden or Obama. Only when a real leader stands up—a president who refuses to bow down—do we see these thugs get nervous.
The reality is, Trump isn’t afraid of Iran, and neither should America be. Our country spent years allowing dictators and terrorists to bark orders at us because Washington was packed full of career politicians who cared more about being liked by Europe than protecting U.S. citizens. Now, every time Trump draws a line in the sand, enemies like Iran panic and start spewing threats out of desperation.
Let’s be clear: When an Iranian lawmaker warns the President of the United States to “watch his back,” that isn’t just an insult to Trump. It’s an insult to every American. It’s a message to the world that the enemies of freedom are emboldened when left-wing politicians play nice and pretend that being tough is somehow immoral.
Maybe the real question is this: Why do we keep electing leaders who think Iran should be our friend? It’s time to stop cowering in fear and start standing up to those who wish harm on our nation’s leaders. For all the noise from Iran, the real danger is a White House that listens to them.
