The news of an artificial intelligence getting a $2.4 million book deal should send shockwaves through every woke boardroom from San Francisco to New York. Only a few years ago, these gatekeepers paraded around as protectors of great literature. Now, their hypocrisy is laid bare for all to see.
For decades, liberals in publishing waved their moral flags and claimed they were speaking truth to power. But while real writers struggled to get any attention, the big shots showered praise—and cash—on leftist propaganda and foreign “talent,” all while turning their noses up at traditional American voices. Suddenly, a computer comes along, puts together some words, and what happens? The industry jumps at it with dollars flying. Apparently, if it’s not a conservative or patriotic American, they’ll sign up anyone—or anything.
This shouldn’t surprise anyone paying attention. The globalist class never really wanted to support human creativity. They wanted control. AI isn’t plagued by “problematic” opinions or Midwestern values. It just spits out whatever narrative the elites feed it, ready to fill pages with whatever passes their censors. This is exactly what the left wants—predictable, programmable, emotionless media that toes the party line and never risks offending anyone important.
Even as hardworking authors get buried under endless requirements for diversity, sensitivity, and political correctness, a machine swoops in and snags millions that could have gone to actual Americans. How telling that the first time publishers cough up real money, it’s given to a rootless algorithm, not someone with skin in the game. The industry is so obsessed with erasing risk and controversy that it would rather sign up an AI—one that never asks for fair pay or a say in its own art. That’s the liberal dream: total control, no messy freedom or dissent.
Isn’t it funny how the same people screaming about protecting jobs and culture are now tossing both in the trash for a quick buck and a robot they can program? Maybe it’s time Americans realized who our real competition is—and what the so-called champions of the arts truly value. When will they finally admit that their idea of progress means replacing us all with machines?
