Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants everyone to know about her struggles with fertility. But instead of inspiring sympathy, her public story shines a bright light on everything wrong with the left’s view of family and children. This is the sad reality of progressive politics—where family values are an afterthought, and children are just part of the narrative instead of cherished blessings.
AOC has spent years pushing a radical vision that mocks traditional values. Her side tells young people that having kids is selfish, that families are outdated, and that motherhood slows down ambition. When one of their own faces heartbreak in building a family, suddenly the left wants us all to gather around with empathy. But there’s no acknowledgment of all the damage done by the anti-family rhetoric they champion.
The elites who attack the very idea of building a family are the same ones who turn around and act shocked when people feel lost or alone. You can’t promote policies that prioritize career over motherhood, or worship so-called “climate justice” over having babies, and then wonder why so many women—AOC included—find themselves facing the devastation of an empty cradle. That’s not compassion. That’s hypocrisy.
Let’s be blunt: the left’s obsession with “choice” and “freedom” sounds noble until you realize it’s all about sacrificing family values on the altar of political correctness. Meanwhile, conservatives have always believed children are gifts, not burdens, and that strong families build a strong nation. If the left was serious about caring for women, they’d stop selling lies about what brings real happiness and fulfillment.
The truth is, America needs more families, not fewer. We need leaders who treat children as blessings, not obstacles. Maybe it’s time for Democrats to look in the mirror. How many more personal tragedies will it take before the left admits their anti-family agenda hurts the very people they claim to protect?
