Francesca Hong thought she had Wisconsin in the bag. The Democrats rolled her out, flashing the same tired playbook, convinced that her far-left promises would sell. This wasn’t an election—it was supposed to be a coronation, at least in the minds of liberal elites. But something glorious happened: the voters didn’t fall for it. In a nail-biter, Hong lost to David Crowley, a man who wasn’t exactly winning hearts across the state. The real kicker? She didn’t even bother to put up a fight where it mattered most—TV ads.
While conservatives went on offense, digging up Hong’s bizarre hot takes—even her weird takes on Thanksgiving—her campaign did nothing to stop the bleeding. She seemed too smug, willing to absorb the hits without firing back. It’s almost as if she believed the mainstream media would protect her or that social media likes would magically turn into votes.
This embarrassing loss wasn’t just about strategy. It showed, once again, how much the radical left underestimates real Americans. They think regular folks will look past their anti-tradition rants and globalist nonsense. Instead, voters saw through Hong’s act, from her extreme policies all the way down to her lazy campaign tactics. When it came down to it, she didn’t respect the voters enough to even communicate on their turf—with tough TV ads, where all of Wisconsin could see her, warts and all.
Republicans knew exactly who they were up against. The RNC hammered Hong on her record, making sure every kitchen table in Wisconsin heard about her out-of-touch ideas. Instead of fighting back, she stayed silent, relying on the elites to deliver victory as if it was her birthright.
If Democrats keep putting up candidates who won’t even spend the money to tell voters what they stand for, they’ll keep losing—no matter how many hashtags or “woke” slogans they tweet. Maybe next time the left should show voters some respect and actually try to earn their support. Or is that just too much to ask from a party this out of touch?
