Once again, Christians are suffering for their faith—and the world barely bats an eye. In Pakistan, brave Christians have to rally just to be treated as equals. It’s not enough that August 11 was named “National Minorities Day” back in 2009. For Christians living there, every day is a struggle against discrimination and hate. Remember, declaring a special day means little when mob attacks and government neglect continue the rest of the year.
This so-called celebration came about because one man, Shahbaz Bhatti—Pakistan’s first Catholic federal minister for minorities—stood up for basic human rights. And for that crusade, he paid the ultimate price. Instead of real change, Pakistani Christians get empty gestures and lip service. While the elites over there talk about tolerance, the Christian minority deals with burned homes, violent mobs, and a justice system stacked against them.
Where is the outrage from Western liberals? They’re always quick to shout about “Islamophobia” whenever it suits their anti-American narrative. But when Christians are persecuted in Islamic countries, the silence is deafening. The globalist crowd at the UN and their woke followers on college campuses ignore these stories because it doesn’t fit their narrative. They love to lecture Americans about privilege—even as Christians everywhere face real oppression and violence.
Just think—these Pakistani Christians are risking their lives for the rights we take for granted every day. While activists demand trigger warnings and safe spaces here, people elsewhere are marching for their very survival. It’s time to stop pretending there’s some kind of moral equivalence between “microaggressions” on social media and bullets or burning churches. There’s a deep, ugly hypocrisy at the heart of progressive politics, and their “tolerance” always seems to stop right at the Christian door.
Pakistan’s Christians are showing more courage and dignity than any overpaid Hollywood activist or DC politician ever will. While the world looks away, these people keep standing up for what’s right. Maybe that’s the real reason the American left doesn’t want to talk about them—because their bravery makes the professional victims of the West look like cowards. Why is it that Christians have to beg for basic rights, while liberal elites obsess over pronouns and social justice theater? This isn’t just a tragedy. It’s a wake-up call.
