The WNBA is supposed to be about empowering women in sports, but lately it seems more interested in playing political games than standing up for basic reality. Look what just happened in Georgia: a mom and her daughter show up at an Indiana Fever-Atlanta Dream game wearing shirts from a company that actually supports women’s sports. What do they get for supporting female athletes? Stadium ushers order them to cover up their shirts. Why? Because the merch had “XX/XY” written on it. Imagine that—biology is now considered too controversial for a women’s basketball game.
If you think this is just some silly mistake, think again. Last week, while WNBA executives huddled behind closed doors, they couldn’t even agree on what a woman is. That should have been the bigger red flag. If you’re running a league for women but can’t explain what a “woman” actually means, you might be part of the problem. This is what happens when sports get hijacked by leftist ideology and politically correct nonsense.
These days, if you say women’s sports should be for, well, women, you’re branded as some sort of extremist. Liberals scream about inclusivity—yet a mom and her daughter simply supporting women’s sports are told to hide their shirts. The hypocrisy is unbelievable. It’s clear the people running these leagues care more about appeasing globalist and activist interests than about American girls who actually want a fair game.
There was a time when supporting strong women was something to be proud of in our country. Now, if you acknowledge basic science, you risk getting thrown out of the arena. This isn’t progress; it’s backwards. The WNBA wants our money, our attention, and our respect—while insulting the very fans who built women’s sports in the first place.
If the league can’t answer the easiest question in the world—what is a woman?—why should any real American trust their leadership? This is what happens when left-wing ideology takes the wheel. What’s next—telling moms they’re not allowed to cheer if their daughters are too “traditional?” The clown show must end.
