For weeks, her cheerleaders everywhere paraded around a so-called poll that showed Bass trouncing her opponent, Nithya Raman, by a huge margin. They bragged about it, did victory laps, and tried bullying everyone into believing Bass’s disastrous reign was somehow popular.

But guess what? That poll was a complete fraud. Not just a harmless error—an outright fake, cooked up as an “experiment.” In other words, this wasn’t just sloppy work.
