Liberals want you to think shoplifting in New York City is all about poor, starving people just trying to get by. That’s nonsense. The truth is far uglier—and far more dangerous. The same old crowd of career criminals is hitting stores again and again. We’re not talking about someone grabbing a loaf of bread for dinner. We’re talking about hardened thieves, waltzing out of stores with armfuls of merchandise, laughing at the rest of us who play by the rules.
It’s enough to make any honest citizen’s blood boil. While progressives make excuses, shopkeepers are forced to lock up toothpaste and laundry detergent—basic items now treated like gold. Socialist ideas have turned neighborhoods into playgrounds for criminals, where laws are ignored and punishment is a joke. Meanwhile, working families have to jump through hoops just to buy the basics. Who is this broken system really helping?
The hypocrisy from the left is staggering. These supposed champions of the little guy stand by, shrugging, while stores close their doors and workers lose their jobs. The so-called “compassion” crowd turns a blind eye as crime eats away at the heart of the community. But let’s tell it like it is: This isn’t about need—it’s greed, plain and simple.
Criminals aren’t stealing because they’re hungry. They do it because they know they can get away with it. The broken system, coddled by liberal politicians and their globalist backers, lets the same offenders pillage communities again and again without any real consequence. It doesn’t take a genius to see why the streets feel less safe and businesses are fleeing.
Law and order used to mean something in this city. Now it feels like the only real crime is expecting criminals to face justice. Liberals, in their never-ending quest for “fairness,” have turned New York into a shoplifter’s paradise. Is this the progress they brag about, or just another badge of their failure?
