New York City’s leaders love to hear themselves talk about “progress,” but real New Yorkers know the truth: the city is spiraling out of control thanks to their woke policies and blind neglect. Case in point? The e-bike explosion. E-bikes, once hailed as a miracle for urban travel, have turned into a deadly menace on our streets. Innocent people are being injured or killed while politicians squabble and shrug.
It didn’t have to be like this. Every day, reckless e-bike riders tear down sidewalks and blast through red lights. The streets have become a free-for-all where families can’t feel safe. As usual, liberal officials act shocked when people demand action. But they wring their hands, mumble about “equity,” and do nothing that actually protects the law-abiding public. All the while, special interests and delivery app giants keep raking in cash.
Priscilla’s Law is just common sense. It’s a reasonable bill that would finally require e-bike riders to get a license—just like car drivers have to. What sane person would argue against knowing who’s zipping around at high speeds in the city’s tightest spaces? Yet, thanks to left-wing bureaucrats in Albany, the streets remain the Wild West. They bend over backwards for anarchist bikers and big tech companies, but ignore New Yorkers begging for order.
Let’s be honest: this isn’t just about e-bikes. It’s about the left’s endless war on rules, responsibility, and public safety. When you let chaos reign, ordinary people suffer. It’s no mystery who benefits from weak enforcement and toothless laws—the ones cashing in while the city slips further into lawlessness.
If Albany refuses to act, it’s proof the left cares more about virtue signaling than saving lives. How many more tragedies will it take before they wake up—or will they just keep blaming everyone else? Real leadership means standing up to the lawless and putting Americans first. But maybe that’s just too much to ask from the people running New York these days.
