Washington is throwing a fit, supposedly “deeply concerned,” after Israel hammered a Syrian military base with airstrikes. Instead of standing with our friend—who’s bravely defending itself and the stability of the region—American officials are chastising Israel for doing what needs to be done. Who do they want in charge, Assad and the terrorists? It sure looks that way.

Let’s get something straight: Israel doesn’t have time for political games. When it sees a threat brewing just miles from its border, it doesn’t send useless statements—it acts. Meanwhile, President Biden and his government act like they care more about coddling bad actors than backing the only democracy in the neighborhood. They’ve forgotten what leadership looks like. Instead of showing strength, they send “messages of concern,” as if that keeps rockets from flying.

If American leaders were actually serious about “peace and stability” in the Middle East, they’d recognize that Israel has skin in the game.
