Why Alaska Still Has a Power Grid from the Stone Age While DC Throws Billions at Blue States

Alaska, the so-called Last Frontier, is still stuck with a power grid that looks more like a backyard extension cord than the sturdy backbone of an American state. Can anyone explain why, in 2024, a massive chunk of America has a single, fragile power line running parallel to their only major north-south highway? This is the United States, not some banana republic — but you wouldn’t know it looking at the way the left has ignored our most strategic state.

The lifeline connecting Anchorage to Fairbanks is a joke. One critical line, snaking through the wilderness, is all that keeps the lights on for thousands of Alaskans. How can anyone call that a “grid”? If a car skids off the Parks Highway and hits the wrong pole, half the state could be dining by candlelight. Yet politicians, especially those cozy with DC liberals, love to wave their green energy flags while real Americans freeze in the dark. Where is all the federal “infrastructure” money actually going? Certainly not to places that matter.

Washington claims the Energy Department is finally waking up to the mess in Alaska. But don’t be fooled. Years of bottomless spending and “Build Back Better” talk have done nothing for the families truly on America’s edge. Instead, globalist elites toss billions at windmills in California or solar panels in New York while Alaska gets nothing but empty promises and bureaucratic reports. The cold, hard truth: liberals care more about scoring points with eco-activists than making sure American citizens get reliable power.

Let’s face it. Alaska is rich in resources, but the left would rather lock up drilling, stifle mining, and turn this rugged state into a playground for environmental lawyers. All while its real residents live with energy systems that belong in the Stone Age. The hypocrisy is stunning. They scream about “equity” and “infrastructure,” but never deliver real solutions to our heartland—just more regulation and lip service.

It’s time for conservatives to demand better. Alaska deserves a real power grid, not a patchwork extension cord. If the federal government can hand out billions to blue-state pet projects, why is America’s strategic frontier left out in the cold? Maybe if Alaska had more lobbyists and fewer moose, the left would actually notice they exist.
