The Silver Tsunami is coming but your starter home dreams are about to get crushed by the left

There’s a storm brewing in the housing market, and no amount of liberal wishful thinking is going to change the facts. America is about to see a so-called “Silver Tsunami”—millions of homes could hit the market as the much-hyped Silent Generation and the legendary Baby Boomers begin leaving the scene. The so-called experts tout this as a solution to our housing crisis. They promise more supply means lower prices. On paper, it sounds like a free ride for struggling families and first-time buyers, right?

Not so fast. In typical leftist fashion, the media glosses over reality. The trouble is, most of these homes aren’t the small, affordable starter homes that working Americans so desperately need. What’s flooding the market are bigger, older houses, often in places young buyers can’t afford—or don’t want—to live. It’s a feast for global investors, developers looking to flip, and deep-pocketed elites, but a slap in the face to the blue-collar families our nation should be defending.

Let’s not forget who created this mess. Decades of reckless Democrat policies—sky-high property taxes, endless red tape, and NIMBY hand-wringing—have made it nearly impossible to build affordable housing where families actually want to live. The ruling class cries crocodile tears for “young people shut out of the market,” but their failed, socialist-leaning urban planning keeps the American Dream further out of reach for every new generation. The so-called solution is to wait for grandma and grandpa to move out or pass on. Shameful.

Meanwhile, hardworking Americans watch as hedge funds and foreign billionaires scoop up properties, turning homes into one more Wall Street casino. Liberals preach about fairness, but their priorities are clear: protect their power, pad their donor’s pockets, and leave everyday people scrambling. The boomer wave won’t solve a thing if our leaders keep selling out the middle class to globalist interests.

So here’s the hard truth: until the left gets out of the way and government stops interfering in the market, the only thing Americans can count on is more frustration. No one in Washington will fix this—not until they put real families over woke donors and bureaucrats. Is it any wonder so many young people stop believing in the American Dream? One thing’s clear—counting on a “tsunami” to clean up this liberal mess is about as smart as building houses on quicksand.
