Trump finally brings justice to Fort Hood killer after years of political cowardice and cover-ups

The clock finally ran out for Major Nidal Hasan. For almost two decades, the man who turned Fort Hood into a massacre site sat on death row, taking up taxpayer dollars while politicians wrung their hands. Hasan murdered 13 unarmed Americans—one of them pregnant—and wounded 32 more. He did it in the name of radical Islam, right on a U.S. Army base. For years, his case became a symbol of Washington’s cowardice—no one in power had the guts to finish the job. The victims’ families were forced to endure endless delays, their loss forgotten while Hasan waited in comfort.

Now, change is here. It took President Trump and a real warrior in the Pentagon to carry out justice. Hasan will face a firing squad—the punishment he earned when he decided to serve America’s enemies instead of his brothers and sisters in uniform. It marks the first military execution in over sixty years and the first by firing squad since World War II. It’s about time. The message is clear: commit treason against America, and judgment will come, no matter how long weak-kneed politicians try to avoid it.

But Hasan isn’t some outlier. His rampage exposed a fatal defect in our military’s leadership—the obsession with political correctness. Even when Hasan poured out his ties to radical Al Qaeda figures, nobody dared speak up. Instead, under Barack Obama, the government acted as if calling out radical ideology was a bigger offense than betraying the country. Soldiers were disarmed on their own bases thanks to Clinton-era policies, making them easy targets for killers and jihadists alike. Meanwhile, the Pentagon kept promoting diversity and inclusion, letting anyone in as long as they checked the right identity boxes.

The real scandal is that this kind of blind trust didn’t just hurt at Fort Hood. It got other Americans killed. High-ranking officers died overseas because our leaders forced troops to partner with unreliable Afghan soldiers, all to keep up the illusion that we weren’t at war with radical Islam. Navy SEALs and Army Rangers knew the truth—sometimes, the guy behind you was more dangerous than the enemy ahead. Why? Because the chain of command would rather risk young Americans’ lives than risk being called insensitive.

Let’s not pretend this execution fixes all that was broken. The same politicians who dragged their feet for years—the same ones who labeled terror attacks as “workplace violence”—are still pushing policies that threaten American security for the sake of woke virtue signaling. Justice for Hasan was delayed by these liberal games, plain and simple.

This could have ended long ago, but our betters in Washington were too scared to act. So here’s the real question: after all this weakness, will America finally learn its lesson, or will we be mourning the next tragedy caused by the left’s reckless fantasies?
