Hollywood stunned as Glen Powell shuts down woke politics for real unity

Hollywood is always preaching. Celebrities never miss a chance to climb up on their soapbox and shove their radical politics down America’s throat. It’s almost a requirement in the liberal entertainment industry: toe the leftist line or else. But every now and then, someone breaks the mold. Glen Powell, star of “Top Gun: Maverick” and the upcoming “Twisters,” just gave Hollywood’s overlords a lesson in actual unity — by refusing to play their divisive political games.

Powell gets it: Americans are sick and tired of being lectured by out-of-touch elites. Instead of jumping into every political fight, he actually wants to appeal to everyone. Isn’t that supposed to be the point of entertainment? Too bad most actors are so addicted to scoring virtue points with coastal media they forgot who actually buys the tickets. Powell understands that when celebrities run their mouths about politics, all they do is split the country further, and alienate ordinary fans.

Of course, Hollywood’s ruling class won’t like this. The establishment demands actors virtue signal about the latest international “cause” or join in their woke crusades against free speech, borders, or America’s founding values. These elites love to play globalist savior from the comfort of their gated communities, all while turning their backs on patriotic Americans who keep this country running. Powell’s decision to focus on his work, not his Twitter followers, exposes just how shallow and hypocritical the industry has become.

It’s no mystery why the loudest critics of this approach come from woke activists and their media lapdogs. They want Hollywood to be a megaphone for fringe ideas and failed liberal policies. Too many actors are quick to shout about “unity” but can’t stop attacking anyone who dares to think differently. But when someone like Powell puts the audience first, it’s a breath of fresh air — not just for conservatives, but for common sense.

This country could use a lot less division, and a lot more courage like Glen Powell’s. Maybe if more celebrities shut up and did their jobs, Americans might actually start trusting Hollywood again. Until then, one honest actor is doing more for unity than a thousand virtue-signaling tweets. Will the rest of Hollywood ever get the message?
