San Francisco, the “tolerant, progressive utopia,” is now the top stage for bloody chaos. Why? Because our leaders care more about coddling criminals than protecting hard-working Americans. The heartbreaking story of Ulysses Tykee Davis makes it crystal clear. Davis—a security guard known as “Bear” to his friends, his wife, and his six children—was just doing his job inside the Warwick Hotel when his life was snuffed out. He was shot in the back during a wild melee, in front of his wife and two kids. This is what “justice” looks like in leftist San Francisco.
The man accused of killing Davis didn’t just pop up out of nowhere. He belongs to one of those notorious “smash and grab” theft gangs that have transformed big cities into playgrounds for thugs. These crooks ransack stores, steal whatever they want, and laugh in the faces of the overworked and underpowered police. Why wouldn’t they? The city’s so-called leaders have made it clear: criminals get a slap on the wrist, and law-abiding families get funeral bills.
It isn’t just stores losing merchandise. It’s families losing fathers. Wives left without husbands, children left fatherless, and for what? The left’s fantasy world, where accountability is called “oppression” and handcuffs are “racist”? Davis’s murder happened as the cameras rolled for a reality TV show. Hollywood gets its drama, and the rest of us get empty promises and politicians wringing their hands. How many more innocent Americans need to die before somebody dares to defend them?
San Francisco’s disastrous crime problem isn’t a glitch—it’s the result of liberal policies baked into blue city government for years. Voters are told that “criminal justice reform” makes life better. Who is it better for? Surely not the security guards risking their lives. Not the families who pay the price in tears. Instead, the global elites in their high-rises keep pushing “restorative justice” while keeping armed guards at their own doors. Regular Americans, like Davis, don’t get that luxury.
Enough is enough. One more grieving family is too many. The political class has chosen sides, and it isn’t with everyday people. Maybe it’s time voters wake up to this brutal reality and demand real change. Or will progressives just keep writing condolence cards, and calling it progress?
