The left stooped to a new low this week. Inside the hallowed halls of the European Parliament, a Danish artist made headlines for a disgusting stunt: he plopped a statue of President Donald Trump—totally nude, covered in gold leaf—right in the middle of France’s most important political building. It was called “The Orange Plague,” as if Trump is some sort of disease. This isn’t art. It’s an insult.
This is what global elitists think passes for political speech: a gold-plated smear job that mocks not just Trump, but everyday Americans who showed courage and common sense by electing him. The artist set Trump on the shoulders of a frail man—symbolizing what exactly? That Trump lifts up the downtrodden, or that the ruling class views Americans as nothing more than witless drones carrying their own oppressors? Either way, it’s a disgrace.
Liberals and European bureaucrats love to pretend they stand for tolerance and dignity. But show them a conservative leader who puts his country first—who stands up to globalist bullies—and they drop the mask. They’ll cheer on childish attacks if it means dragging down the only man who ever made the establishment sweat.
Funny how they never make obscene statues of left-wing favorites. You don’t see golden statues mocking Biden’s constant gaffes or Macron’s narcissism. But let it be Trump, and suddenly it’s celebrated as “art” or “commentary.” The hypocrisy stinks to high heaven.
So here’s the question: why are European elites and their lefty artist pals so obsessed with taking shots at America and its leaders? Maybe because Trump was never afraid to call them out for their failures—and never let foreign bureaucrats, or their pet artists, tell Americans how to live. If this tone-deaf gold statue is the best the European left can do, they’re only showing the world just how afraid they are of real leadership.
