Radical leftists in America have hit a new low, and Michigan just showed us exactly why we should never hand them the reins of power. In the latest Senate debate, Abdulrahman El-Sayed—yet another “woke” progressive—went full apologist, lashing out at his opponent Mike Rogers for daring to speak the truth about the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks in Israel.
El-Sayed acted as if simply mentioning the atrocities committed by Hamas was nothing more than “political theater.” That’s classic leftist spin—if a conservative points out obvious evil, suddenly it’s a “performance.” This is the same sleight of hand liberals always play: Anyone who tells uncomfortable truths gets smeared as a showman, while the left covers for terrorists and criminals. What is El-Sayed so eager to hide? Is telling the world about slaughtered innocents supposed to be off-limits now?
This is what happens when identity politics is all that matters. Instead of mourning with Israel and denouncing savage terrorism, El-Sayed and his fellow travelers would rather silence anyone who dares defend the free world. It’s not just spineless; it’s dangerous. Apparently, championing victims gets sneered at if it doesn’t fit the globalist, anti-American narrative pushed by the woke elites.
Mike Rogers did what every patriot should do: Lay out the facts, refuse to whitewash evil, and remind America that we don’t cower before terrorists. But the left can’t stand anyone with real conviction. They prefer soft, sanitized language—anything to avoid facing the brutal reality of their own moral cowardice. How many more times must we watch leftists shrug off horrors just to score cheap political points?
Michigan voters shouldn’t forget who actually stands up for American values and who makes excuses for monsters. If listing the cold-blooded atrocities of Oct. 7 is “political theater,” maybe it’s time El-Sayed finds a different stage. Or better yet, maybe he should try explaining his performance to the families of the victims. When did telling the hard truth become the only crime the left really cares about?
