Senate candidate says Israel as dangerous as Iran and voters are shocked

The radical left just can’t help themselves when it comes to trashing America’s allies. At a recent Michigan U.S. Senate debate, Abdulrahman El-Sayed—a progressive darling and self-declared “Muslim leftist”—decided to lump Israel, our strongest friend in the Middle East, into the same boat as Iran, a country run by terrorism and hate. According to El-Sayed, both Israel and Iran are “dangerous,” each in their “own way.” Think about how insane that is for a second.

The left has been working overtime to rewrite history and ignore the blood-soaked record of Iran’s regime. Iran funds terrorist groups, declares “Death to America,” and regularly threatens to wipe Israel off the map. But apparently that’s no different than a democracy like Israel, which is the only free nation in that region and stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the U.S. against vicious jihadists and dictators.

This kind of moral equivalence is both dangerous and dishonest. It reeks of the typical anti-American, blame-America-first mentality we see from progressives these days. Instead of calling out the real threats—like the tyrants in Tehran—leftist politicians would rather bash our allies and pander to the most radical voices in their party. El-Sayed’s comments aren’t just a “political gaffe.” They expose exactly where his loyalties lie—and it’s not with the United States, or the values we hold dear.

Let’s not pretend this is some one-off slip-up. The Democrat Party has been drifting away from supporting Israel for years. Now, their candidates openly smear our friends and soft-pedal dictators. It’s a slippery slope from “both sides are dangerous” right into embracing the globalist, open-borders club that wants America to take a back seat in world affairs.

Voters in Michigan—and across this country—should pay close attention. If a U.S. Senate hopeful can’t tell the difference between a freedom-loving democracy and one of the world’s leading state sponsors of terror, he has no business anywhere near real power. How much more proof do people need that the radical left can’t be trusted to defend America or our allies?
