If you’re looking for another Democrat in New Jersey whose main skill is collecting taxpayer paychecks, look no further than Rep. Nellie Pou. She “represents” New Jersey’s ninth congressional district, but it’s hard to figure out what, exactly, she’s accomplished for anyone but herself. Like most liberals in power, her record is full of double-dipping salaries, cozy government gigs, and zero results for real working families. New Jersey deserves better than this level of laziness.
Pou’s claim to fame isn’t helping her neighbors or fighting for American values. It’s racking up paydays from cushy, insider jobs. She sat as a state senator, cashed in there, but that wasn’t enough—she padded her wallet again at the Paterson Parking Authority. Two government checks, same politician. Isn’t it funny how these Democrats always seem to find themselves living large off public money while the rest of us pay the bills?
The story doesn’t stop at collecting easy cash. Pou’s ties to Paterson’s City Hall are sketchy at best. She cozied up with the city’s disgraced former mayor Joey Torres—let’s just say the kind of circles that put self-enrichment over community. And when her time as City Administrator ended with a firing in 2018, she didn’t walk away empty-handed. Nope, she walked away $50,000 richer, all on the taxpayer’s dime. That’s the Democrat way: mess up, cash out, move on with no shame.
These are the same liberals who preach about helping the “little guy” and holding power accountable. Meanwhile, Pou and her pals are the big winners on every government handout, botching community projects and leaving taxpaying Americans to foot the tab. They can’t fix the roads. They can’t clean up the streets. But they sure know how to cut themselves a fat check and call it “public service.”
It’s high time people ask: what real good has Nellie Pou ever done? Aside from lining her own pockets and leaning on the broken Democratic machine? If this is what progressive leadership looks like, maybe New Jersey needs a giant, common-sense wake-up call. Why settle for politicians who take, take, take—and never deliver anything but excuses?
