It looks like California’s controller, Malia Cohen, is living up to her title—just not in the way taxpayers would hope. This state is crippled by sky-high taxes and runaway spending, and now its top money watchdog can’t even keep her own office under control. The incompetence is embarrassing, even for a state that has made government chaos its brand.
Cohen wants Californians to give her another term. For what? Her office is a mess. While families are pinching pennies and businesses are fleeing to states that actually function, Cohen seems more focused on keeping her job than doing it right. The left loves to talk about “accountability,” but when it comes to running California’s finances, liberal politicians couldn’t manage a lemonade stand without spilling every cup.
Let’s not forget—this is the same crowd that preaches about “equity” and “fairness,” while turning the Golden State into a playground for special interests. Maybe if Cohen was more interested in serving Californians instead of globalist agendas, we wouldn’t have another Democrat-run disaster on our hands.
People expect the state controller to watch over their money. But with Cohen at the helm, it’s more like letting the fox guard the henhouse. She’s proven she can’t keep her own house in order, so why should anyone trust her with the state’s checkbook?
California voters are tired of being used as a piggy bank for failed liberal experiments. If Cohen can’t whip her office into shape, maybe she should step aside for someone who actually believes in transparency and responsibility. Or is that too much to ask from the California left?
