America doesn’t owe Mahmoud Khalil a single thing. Yet here we are, watching him get paraded around on cable news as if he’s some kind of expert. When asked to simply say if Hamas is wrong, he dodges and dances like it’s rocket science. Instead of condemning terror, he calls the question unfair, as if it’s too tough to decide between innocent lives and barbaric violence.
This is what passes for moral clarity on the left these days—activists who refuse to pick a side when terrorists murder and kidnap civilians. Make no mistake: this isn’t about “nuance” or “complexity”—it’s about cowardice. Mahmoud Khalil can’t bring himself to admit evil when he sees it, but liberals still rush to give him a microphone.
It’s embarrassing to see so-called journalists treat this activist like his opinion matters more than truth. We’re supposed to believe there’s something deep about refusing to say terrorism is wrong? This is the kind of upside-down thinking that’s destroying Western values, turning black and white into endless shades of gray—all in the name of “fairness” or “equity.”
If America listened to people like Khalil, we’d have no spine. We’d never stand up to evil. The left claims to love peace and justice, but when it’s time to actually say that murder and terror are wrong, they suddenly lose their voice. Does silence in the face of terror make us more enlightened—or just more pathetic?
This country was built on the belief that right and wrong aren’t hard to figure out. We owe nothing to activists who hate our values and can’t denounce terrorism. Maybe next time the media wants to prop up someone like Mahmoud Khalil, they should just hand him a mirror. If America ever forgets to call out evil clearly, we won’t recognize ourselves at all.
