All it takes is one reckless policy to make our city streets more dangerous. New York’s sanctuary city laws have once again put chaos ahead of law and order—and this time, an ICE officer was forced to pull the trigger. Instead of facing the hard truth, left-wing politicians and activists raced to the nearest protest, screaming outrage before even pausing to hear the facts.
Let’s lay it out: Oscar Belgal, a Dominican national, was shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer while ICE tried to do its job. Instead of asking why sanctuary policies let potential criminals avoid deportation, progressives like Zohran Mamdani jumped to blame law enforcement. It’s the same song and dance every time—cry about “racism,” demand to abolish ICE, and ignore the harm to real New Yorkers.
These sanctuary policies are nothing but a shield for lawbreakers. They say they’re about compassion, but it’s chaos for the law-abiding people struggling to keep their neighborhoods safe. Local leaders refuse to cooperate with federal immigration agents, making it nearly impossible for ICE to remove dangerous individuals. Whose side are they on, anyway?
Every time cops or ICE try to enforce the law, the professional protestors come out of the woodwork. They don’t care who gets hurt—as long as their leftist talking points get airtime. Meanwhile, New Yorkers are left wondering why their safety takes a backseat to radical open-borders politics.
If politicians like Mamdani really cared about public safety, they’d stand with law enforcement—not against them. But that doesn’t fit the woke agenda. The real question is, how many more people have to get hurt before the left admits their policies don’t work?
