Something is seriously broken in America’s youth. Kids are meaner, angrier, and more dangerous than ever before. The numbers don’t lie—youth violence is surging, with murder rates skyrocketing, school attacks making headlines, and suicides tragically setting new highs. Parents, schools, and liberal talking heads want to throw every excuse at the wall: blame guns, blame social media, blame bullies, blame the “system.” But how did we get here? What really happened to America’s kids? Too many folks are afraid to face the uncomfortable truth.
First, let’s call it out: parenting in this country has gone off the rails. Look around—basic respect has vanished. Young people curse out police officers, ignore elders, and have no sense of boundaries. This is what you get when parents are too busy, too distracted, or just too afraid to discipline their children. The collapse of authority in the home is ground zero for the collapse of order everywhere else. Liberals love to talk about being “friends” with their kids, but turning parenting into a popularity contest guarantees one thing: chaos.
Then there’s the utter failure of our education system. What are we teaching our children? Not much, judging by test scores. Math and reading skills are in free-fall, while kids march in lockstep with every radical ideology the teachers’ unions push. Merit is dead—everyone passes, hard work is mocked, and “equity” replaces achievement. No wonder an entire generation is falling for the empty promises of socialism. The left’s obsession with feelings over facts has bred a clueless, entitled crop of young people who react with tantrums, not discipline.
American culture isn’t helping either. Society once cared about the impact of sex, violence, and trashy music on kids. In the 1950s and ’80s, people actually sounded the alarm about the garbage infiltrating our homes—from vulgar lyrics to shameless public behavior. Now, those guardrails have been bulldozed. “Progressives” claimed it was all about freedom. The real result? Peer pressure gone wild, shoplifting rings for fun, and teen gangs idolizing criminality instead of character.
But there’s a deeper root liberals don’t want to touch. The so-called sexual revolution and the birth-control pill didn’t just offer “freedom” to women—it upended the American family. Mother left the home not just for opportunity, but often out of economic necessity in the liberal-invented dual-income trap. Fewer adults were present to raise children. Discipline, supervision, and simple family structure broke down—traded, supposedly, for higher living standards and “equality.” Modern parents cash in their independence, but the bill has come due. Kids now grow up lost, unsupervised, and too many turn violent as a result.
The left wants you to believe that more government, more programs, and more woke ideology are the answers. But the simple fact is this: when families break apart, when schools stop teaching, and when society abandons standards, children pay the price. The pill may have made adults’ lives more convenient, but it helped shatter the foundation children relied on for generations. So here’s the question—how many more innocent lives have to be lost before America cares more for its own kids than woke virtue signaling? Maybe it’s time to admit the so-called revolution ruined more than it ever fixed.
