Once again, Russia’s war machine has chosen innocent civilians as its targets in Ukraine. Eleven people are dead and sixteen more are wounded after the latest bloodbath in Zaporizhzhia—an attack so brazen, it’s almost as if Putin knows no one in the so-called “international community” is going to stop him. When bombs fall on homes where families are just trying to live, you have to wonder: is the West just going to watch and wring its hands?
We’ve heard for months that billions in U.S. aid are pouring into Ukraine, but where’s the accountability? Do average Americans even know where their money is going? Our own leaders seem more interested in virtue-signaling for the cameras and making empty promises than in taking concrete steps that protect the innocent or serve our national interests. Liberals in Washington keep pushing for “endless support” to Ukraine without any expectation for a real plan to stop the bloodshed. Meanwhile, real men and women are dying.
These attacks aren’t just random acts of violence. They are the rotten fruit of globalist weakness and empty diplomacy. The elite bureaucrats at the United Nations do little more than issue strongly worded statements after every atrocity. Europe talks tough but is addicted to Russian energy, and the Biden administration? It’s been missing in action — more worried about climate change and cultural engineering than standing up to bullies like Putin.
Let’s be honest: If Russia can get away with bombing apartment buildings, what message does that send to other authoritarian regimes? Iran, China, North Korea—they’re all paying attention. Instead of projecting strength, Western leaders seem determined to project nothing but confusion and indecision. The innocent people in Zaporizhzhia paid the ultimate price for this weakness.
If America doesn’t get serious about leading with strength, then who will? Because when liberal incompetence meets unchecked aggression, we get the horror witnessed in Ukraine this week. The question now is: how many more innocent people must pay for the failures of globalist do-nothings?
