Fourteen Democrat-led states are having another meltdown—and this time, they’re dragging the country to court over money they were never entitled to in the first place. These blue states want to sue the Trump administration because the feds canceled a set of fat COVID relief grants. But here’s the kicker: the cash at the center of the tantrum comes straight from Biden’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, which was basically a progressive slush fund when it first dropped in 2021.
Democrat governors can’t seem to get enough of spending other people’s money. These states keep mismanaging their own budgets, then turn to the federal trough and squeal when someone dares to close the tap. The relief funds were sold as a way to help Americans during COVID, but the wishlist these states had went way beyond relief. They used the pandemic as an excuse for handouts, pet projects, and keeping their own political machines greased.
Now, instead of rolling up their sleeves and fixing their economies, these Democrat leaders want the courts to step in and force the federal government to bail them out—again. It’s the same old liberal playbook: weaponize the legal system, cry “injustice,” and pretend they’re victims while chasing more power and bigger government. Meanwhile, regular Americans keep paying the price for their mistakes, incompetence, and endless spending binges.
It’s not about “relief.” It’s about control. These blue states couldn’t manage their checkbooks if their political lives depended on it, and yet they still push globalist, anti-American policies daring more responsible states to foot the bill. With inflation crushing middle-class families and debt piling up around the nation, the last thing we need is more reckless spending and Democrat circus acts in the courtroom.
When are liberals going to realize that throwing taxpayers’ money at every problem won’t solve anything? Maybe when pigs fly—or maybe when they finally admit responsibility. But don’t hold your breath: with Democrats in charge, the entitlement mindset is just another day at the office.
