Virginia lawmakers are finally waking up to a dangerous problem—chatbots pretending to be human. Now, a panel has backed so-called “protections” against these bots fooling the public. Well, it’s about time. For years, tech elites and their Silicon Valley partners have played make-believe with internet safety, pushing globalist agendas and flooding our screens with artificial nonsense. Meanwhile, parents, students, and everyday Americans are left to fend for themselves.
Let’s face reality. These chatbots—powered by left-wing programmers and shadowy foreign interests—don’t just spread confusion. They push propaganda. With next to no oversight, they get used for everything from manipulating elections to tricking kids with lies. And still, liberals have dragged their feet when it comes to real protections. They’d rather make up more useless “task forces” and “working groups” than give citizens the truth.
The Virginia panel likes to pat itself on the back for addressing this mess, but even they can’t figure out the basics. They don’t have answers on who’s actually going to enforce these rules or who is going to pay for it. Classic government logic: jump to regulate first, scramble to pay later. Who ends up holding the bag? The taxpayers, as always.
It’s funny—liberals always say they care about internet safety and “disinformation,” but the second it means holding their precious tech partners accountable, suddenly the room goes silent. Why is that? Maybe because these chatbots serve liberal narratives just fine. Maybe they see bots as another tool to control what people see, hear, and believe.
Americans want transparency and truth, not another empty promise from bureaucrats. If lawmakers can’t find the backbone to enforce these protections or make Big Tech pay for their own mess, why bother with this charade? The public deserves better than digital snake oil and hollow speeches. When are we going to stop letting the tech tyrants run wild—and start standing up for real people?
