This time, it’s Stefany Shaheen—the latest in a long line of big government liberals—announcing that she wants to rip away the tax breaks New Hampshire families rely on to pay their bills and put food on the table.

Let’s be honest. People in New Hampshire are already drowning in expenses. Gas, groceries, heating—everything costs more thanks to failed Democrat policies out of Washington. Yet while families struggle, Stefany Shaheen’s grand solution is to take away even more of their hard-earned cash. Call it what it is: a liberal cash grab. It’s not about fairness or the “greater good”—it’s about stuffing government coffers and making families more dependent on politicians like her.

Of course, this shouldn’t be surprising. Shaheen’s record as a Portsmouth city councilor is packed with support for tax hikes and bigger fees. She’s got a history of squeezing ordinary people for every last dime, all while enjoying the perks and campaign cash that come with being part of an entrenched Washington dynasty. Her mother sits in the U.S. Senate, and surprise, Stefany is more than happy to keep the family tradition alive—where the insiders get richer, and the rest of us get handed the bill.

The hypocrisy is jaw-dropping. These are the same Democrats who claim to “fight for the middle class,” but when push comes to shove, their real plan is always higher taxes, more spending, and more control. They talk a big game about justice and equality, but their policies punish the very people they pretend to care about: working families who just want to get ahead.

It begs the question—when will liberals learn? Or maybe they already know what they’re doing. Maybe the endless war on tax relief is exactly what they want. More money for the government, more power for insiders like Stefany Shaheen, and less freedom for the rest of us. If New Hampshire wants to stay free and keep its dollars out of Washington’s grubby hands, it’s time to say no to this latest assault on the middle class.
