The Democrat fighting for a Michigan Senate seat apparently decided the best way to connect with voters is by mocking something as American as apple pie—Michigan football. You have to wonder what’s going through his mind. Did anyone in his campaign stop to think that attacking college football in the heart of Wolverines country is a solid plan for losing?
Anyone who’s spent five minutes in Michigan knows this isn’t just a sport — it’s tradition, it’s pride, it’s family. But now the left’s latest darling wants to ride into the Senate sneering at the game that unites neighbors and generations alike. Only a liberal could be so out of touch with the culture of the state they want to represent. While hard-working folks gather with friends and family to cheer on their team, El-Sayed is too busy playing the role of “holier than thou” progressive, looking down his nose at the passions of everyday Americans.
It’s classic leftist hypocrisy. The elites love to pretend they’re “for the people,” but they never miss a chance to insult what regular Americans care about. The progressive playbook says to mock and shame anything remotely patriotic or traditional. By smearing Michigan football, El-Sayed reveals his globalist, anti-American instincts. He wants to be part of the club that dictates what’s good for you, while showing utter contempt for the state’s values.
Maybe this is the Democrats’ newest campaign strategy: attack local heroes, mock cherished pastimes, and see how far you can push normal people before they fight back. The far-left can’t seem to decide whether they hate flyover country because of its values, its beliefs, or simply because it refuses to bow to their woke agenda. They sure aren’t hiding their disdain anymore, and El-Sayed’s latest move leaves no doubt.
If this is what Michigan voters want—someone who trashes their teams, their traditions, and everything that makes their state unique—then by all means, give the guy a Senate seat. But don’t be surprised when he votes down your freedoms and cheers for Team Washington instead of Team Michigan. Is there any Democrat left who actually likes America, or is making fun of flyover folks just part of the job description now?
