Shocking numbers reveal how New York sanctuary policies put families at risk for violent crime

Sanctuary states like New York are putting the safety of American families last, all in the name of virtue signaling for their progressive base. Instead of helping law enforcement keep dangerous criminals off the streets, New York’s leftist politicians are protecting criminal illegal aliens—even those with gang ties. It’s not a secret anymore: the numbers say it all.

New York has rejected thousands of ICE detainers, which means at least 16,000 illegal aliens—people who were supposed to be handed over to federal authorities—are walking free in neighborhoods across the state. And we’re not talking about shoplifters or petty thieves. These are individuals who collectively have been connected to more than 50,000 crimes. Yet, Democrats act as if enforcing the law is some kind of sin.

The so-called “sanctuary” policies are nothing more than open invitations for criminals to stay and thrive. Politicians in the Big Apple whine and complain when ICE agents step in to do the job local officials won’t, like if an ICE officer dares to defend himself against a gang member. The real meltdown isn’t when ICE acts; it’s when taxpayers realize progressive leaders care more about protecting dangerous foreigners than the safety of their own constituents.

New Yorkers now have the privilege of living next door to illegal aliens who might have committed violent offenses—all because their leaders are more interested in fighting federal agents than protecting everyday Americans. This isn’t compassion. It’s recklessness, plain and simple. It’s proof that liberal politicians see American safety as a small price to pay for votes from the radical left.

When will the insanity end? Globalist elites in Albany and New York City don’t want law and order—they want chaos, all dressed up as “inclusion.” While Democrat politicians virtue-signal from their gated neighborhoods, working-class citizens pay the ultimate price. How many more crimes have to be committed before these so-called leaders actually put Americans first? Or is the real crisis the fact that they don’t care at all?
