The real reason socialists hate billionaires and what they don’t want you to know about success

The socialist left is at it again, this time spreading the ridiculous notion that billionaires rake in their vast wealth without lifting a finger. Abdul El-Sayed, one of the loudest voices pushing this nonsense, wants Americans to believe that success in this country is just a lucky accident and not the result of hard work, risk-taking, and smart decision-making. El-Sayed ignores what really makes America great: the chance for anyone to work hard and build something big.

Socialists love painting a world where wealthy Americans are some kind of villains, just lounging by their pools while their bank accounts magically fill up. Nothing could be further from the truth. The fact is, becoming successful takes guts. Most billionaires started with little more than an idea and the courage to put in insane hours, facing failure and ridicule along the way. Left-wing activists want to ignore the risks—not to mention the sleepless nights and the jobs these folks end up creating.

But let’s be honest. Socialism has always needed a boogeyman, and this time it’s America’s job creators and innovators. Liberals pretend to hate “corporate greed,” but the real motivation is jealousy and the urge to punish people for daring to succeed. Even some on the right have bought into this anti-business, anti-freedom garbage, because it’s easier to point fingers than to celebrate actual achievement.

The hypocrisy really ramps up when these so-called progressives claim to care about the poor and working class. America’s most successful people haven’t just gotten rich—they’ve created millions of jobs, driven innovation, and kept this country competitive against the same globalist interests the left always pretends to oppose. Socialists in America don’t want to level the playing field—they want to tear down anyone who wins.

It’s time to stop pretending that ripping down billionaires will magically make the rest of us richer. That’s a fantasy, plain and simple. If these socialist politicians spent half the effort encouraging ambition instead of attacking it, maybe fewer Americans would feel hopeless. What’s their real plan—tax innovation until there’s nothing left to envy?
