When will America finally wake up to the disaster of unchecked safety theater? Today, families across North America found their summer fun canceled, all because of one accident on a roller coaster. Six Flags, under some misguided, top-down directive, isn’t just shutting down one ride—they’re slamming the brakes on coasters across Georgia, California, New Jersey, Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina, and even all the way up in Canada. These closures cover thousands of miles, dozens of communities, and count on it—hundreds of thousands of taxpayers’ dollars.
Let’s be clear: if the left had its way, nobody would be able to enjoy anything remotely thrilling. They’d bubble wrap every playground, post a warning label on every swing set, and force everyone to live in some dull, government-mandated cocoon. All in the name of “safety,” which more and more looks like code for control. An accident happens, and immediately, their answer is sweeping closures. It’s proof that the liberal elite trust bureaucracy more than the common sense and responsibility of the American people.
This is the same mindset that brought us endless pandemic lockdowns—shut it all down, forget economic reality, forget family memories, just wave the flag of fear and hope people comply. The globalist mindset keeps creeping in: if a problem happens in one state, let’s punish everyone. If someone stubs their toe in Canada, let’s shut down fun in the heartland. It’s all about treating all Americans like children who need permission to live their lives.
Of course, there’s never a thought to those who lose out. Working-class folks who saved up for a theme park trip now get stiffed, thanks to the lawyers and the risk-averse suits. Kids see their summer dreams tossed in the trash because grown-ups in the boardroom are terrified of a tiny headline. Maybe if these parks spent less time pandering to the woke crowd and more on real maintenance, they wouldn’t have to run and hide the minute something goes wrong.
This should make everyone angry. Is this what freedom looks like now—an endless parade of “CLOSED” signs? America wasn’t built on shutting down at the first sign of trouble. Isn’t it about time we started running the country for the people who pay the bills, instead of the ones who write the warnings?
