Yet, when it comes to American safety, there’s always an excuse, always a delay. Why isn’t more being done to harden our coastlines and infrastructure against natural disasters that could genuinely threaten millions of lives? Maybe it’s because the global elites would rather keep us distracted and fearful of phantom threats than face a real one that demands leadership and American grit.

If a disaster did reach our shores, America would step up—because that’s what American citizens do. But will leftist politicians be ready, or will they just hide behind another task force, promising the world and delivering nothing?
