Factories in California have become an endangered species. Every year, this supposedly “golden” state seems to lose another business, another community, another piece of American industry. The liberal elites running Sacramento love to pile on taxes, regulations, and anti-business rhetoric. It’s almost as if they want jobs to disappear and families to break apart.
Yet against all odds, something big is happening in Kern County. A steel plant—yes, a real factory with real jobs—is breaking ground. The Mojave Micro Mill isn’t just another warehouse or tech building. It’s California’s first steel mill in decades, and that matters. This project is an act of defiance against California’s anti-industry machine. While politicians like to talk big about “the future,” it’s rare to see them actually doing anything that helps the working class. Socialist schemes and climate mandates have chased jobs out, forcing Americans to rely on steel imported from China, India, or wherever globalists can get it cheap.
Now, for once, Kern County is fighting back. This steel mill will create hundreds of good jobs. It gives American workers a chance to compete on our own soil, in our own towns, for our own future. Naturally, the left will try to find something wrong. They’ll worry about the carbon footprint or whine about “equality” while real families are finally given hope.
Let’s face it: California hasn’t exactly been a welcoming place for anyone who wants to build, work hard, or achieve something real. Liberal leaders prefer to virtue signal, pat themselves on the back for “going green,” and make life miserable for anyone who dares to challenge their failed policies. But the reality is, if you don’t manufacture, you don’t have an economy. You just have unemployment lines and endless government handouts.
The Mojave Micro Mill is proof that real Americans are still hungry to create. It’s a reminder that the American dream can thrive when left-wing busybodies get out of the way. Maybe it’s time for the rest of this state—and the whole country—to wake up. Industry is not the enemy. Jobs are not the enemy. California’s leaders could learn a thing or two from Kern County and stop acting like bureaucrats on a mission to destroy what makes America great.
If liberals get their way, California will end up as a playground for the rich and a graveyard for everyone else. Is that the “progress” voters signed up for?
