Debate Disaster Exposes How Out of Touch Socialist Radicals Have Hijacked LA Politics

Last night’s final debate between Nithya Raman and Karen Bass wasn’t just a disaster for the left—it was a complete exposé of just how clueless and out-of-touch socialist radicals have become. The moderators took off the gloves and actually challenged the reckless, pie-in-the-sky promises coming from Raman. Finally, somebody had the guts to poke holes in the fantasy world progressives are selling to the people of Los Angeles.

Karen Bass has her own baggage, no doubt. But for many voters, watching her face off against a far-left firebrand like Raman made Bass look almost like the responsible adult in the room. Bass seized her moment and reminded everyone that Raman doesn’t just want to change the status quo—she wants to burn it to the ground and replace it with failed socialist experiments. Only in L.A. could anyone call that “leadership.”

Meanwhile, Raman tried to paint herself as a visionary, desperate for change. But all she really offered were the same tired leftist talking points—more government handouts, weaker law enforcement, and wild spending with no real plan to pay for it. She attacked Bass’s record, but when pressed for specifics about how she’d actually fix anything, she flailed. If Raman can’t even handle a debate moderator’s questions, why should anyone trust her with the fate of America’s second-largest city?

Here’s what the hardworking families in Los Angeles deserve: real answers, not slogans. But what did they get from the so-called “revolutionary” candidate? Empty promises. All this socialist posturing does is drive more honest taxpayers out of the city while criminals and freeloaders run wild. This isn’t “progress”—it’s regression, pure and simple, brought to you by the same liberal elites who think borders are racist and tax dollars grow on trees.

If this debate did anything, it exposed the gaping holes in the left’s arguments. It’s not “racist” or “mean” to question whether socialists should be running our government. It’s called common sense. You can bet most of the media will still bend over backward to defend candidates like Raman—but even they couldn’t hide how weak her ideas really are. Isn’t it time voters started calling out these radical liberals for what they truly are—a threat to prosperity, security, and American values?
