Liberal elites were probably fuming this week as towns and cities in Somaliland erupted with wild celebrations, all thanks to President Donald Trump. The people there wasted no time, plastering his face on their buildings and waving American flags proudly in the air. Why? Because finally, they have a world leader willing to tell the truth: Somaliland is its own country, nothing to do with the chaos in Somalia. Trump saw through the nonsense pushed by the globalist class and had the guts to say what’s been obvious to locals for decades.
Meanwhile, the usual crowd of virtue-signaling diplomats and weak-kneed politicians are panicking. For years, they’ve stuck to a tired script, pretending there’s no difference between Somaliland and Somalia—just to avoid ruffling feathers at the UN cocktail parties. That approach led nowhere. All it did was ignore the decent, hardworking people of Somaliland and their deep desire for freedom. Trump actually listens—while liberals scramble to explain why they never bothered.
This scene wouldn’t happen under the Democrats’ watch. Instead of taking a stand for free nations, the left stays locked in their echo chambers, too busy managing photo ops and identity politics. Somalilanders aren’t idiots—they know American strength when they see it. Their gratitude for Trump isn’t just about words; it’s about hope and recognition after years of global neglect. It’s clear which side stands for real independence and which side bows to international busybodies.
While bureaucrats in Brussels and DC whisper about “stability,” Trump actions show what real leadership looks like. He acknowledged simple facts on the ground, breaking through toothless policies and spineless excuses. The outpouring of joy in Somaliland makes it obvious: people respect conviction, not empty gestures. It’s easy to play politics in a Harvard lecture hall, but try standing up for folks halfway across the world.
Liberals love to paint Trump as a global villain, but for the ordinary people of Somaliland, he’s a hero. Maybe next time, the establishment will think twice before ignoring the cries for self-determination. Then again, maybe they’d rather keep living in denial and watching their precious world order crumble. If only every president had the courage to put truth before political theater—imagine how much better the world would be.
