Elite universities exposed as new rape scandal erupts while progressives push empty safe spaces

America’s top universities love to brag about their “safe spaces” and “progressive values.” But while they’re too busy policing pronouns and hiring diversity officers, another young woman has just accused male students of a gang rape. This time, it’s at the University of Chicago—a so-called “elite” institution still pretending they have their act together. Sound familiar? It should. Just months ago, Cornell University was at the center of a disgusting frat party scandal, where a “Jane Doe” claimed she was assaulted by a group of privileged boys during a night of booze, drugs, and chaos. Nobody got charged after the system “investigated.” Are you surprised?

The liberal response is always the same: lecture everyone about feminism, claim to empower women, but when a real crisis hits on their campuses, silence or cover-ups follow. Why? Because protecting the university brand—and their donors—matters more than protecting young women. There’s always a seminar on “toxic masculinity,” but where is the actual accountability? Where are the safe spaces for victims—not just activists?

Now, the New York Attorney General is supposedly “reviewing documents” from the Cornell case, after the school swept everything under the rug. The process will drag out. Excuses will pile up. Meanwhile, another civil lawsuit rips open a wound that the university would rather you forget. These cases are more than just bad headlines. They show the ugly truth: progressive-run universities are failing at the basics. All their talk about equality and justice is nothing but marketing spin.

Let’s be blunt. This wasn’t an innocent misunderstanding. Every single time one of these outrageous parties ends with police tape, the so-called “experts” question whether there was real consent—even when drugs, booze, and out-of-control behavior are at play. They want to litigate morality but keep dodging real consequences. If a conservative fraternity pulled this, the campus would be shut down, the media would talk about it for years, and some bureaucrat would make millions on the lecture circuit. But for the left’s champions? Crickets.

Americans need to wake up and see what these liberal universities really stand for. They talk a big game about “believing women,” but they won’t risk a dollar or a headline to actually do it. The real question isn’t just about what happened at some party. It’s about how many more scandals we’ll see before the left stops covering up for its own. Will progressives ever take the rotten culture on their own campuses seriously, or is “wokeness” just an excuse to avoid the real work of keeping students safe?
