There’s a lot that the liberal media doesn’t want to talk about as they parade their latest Minnesota Senate darling, Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan, in front of the cameras. But here’s a fact they can’t just sweep under the rug: her own maternal grandfather, John Jacob Hartmann, was suspected in a series of grisly murders across multiple states. For decades, Hartmann hid away in Minnesota’s mental hospitals, only to escape and become a suspect in serial killings. Yet, Democrats are acting like this is just some irrelevant, distant family lore.
If this kind of family history was linked to any conservative candidate, you can bet every news anchor would be screaming about it. They’d make it the lead headline for weeks. But since Flanagan has the right political stripes and checks the right diversity boxes, the left and their media allies pretend there’s nothing to see. This is classic liberal double standards at play. If you’re on their team, you can do no wrong, no matter how dark your past – or the past hiding in your own family tree.
But it’s not just the hypocrisy that should concern voters. This is a clear sign of how little scrutiny Democrats face, no matter how unfit for office they might be. While hardworking Americans struggle with crime, addiction, and chaos unleashed by activist judges and soft-on-crime policies, the Democrats are pushing people with deeply troubling backgrounds to the center stage. The Flanagan family’s stunning history should make everyone question the wisdom of blindly backing these candidates.
For generations, Americans trusted that our leaders would have strong character and real values. What are the values on display here? The elites want to hush up anything that looks bad for their own, instead of having an honest conversation about mental health, crime, and responsibility. They demand absolute transparency from their opponents but fight tooth and nail to cover up their own skeletons. It’s the same tired playbook – distract, deflect, and deny, all while pretending to care about “integrity.”
Minnesota voters deserve the truth, not another round of Democrat smoke and mirrors. Are we supposed to entrust our state’s future to people who come from families with such dark, hidden chapters – and who refuse to talk about them? Maybe it’s time to stop letting the radical left pick our leaders and start demanding real accountability before our country slips any further down the rabbit hole.
