Elites plot to erase Central Park’s iconic horses and crush working families for their egos

The latest backroom deal to kill New York’s iconic Central Park horse carriage trade is nothing but a gift from privileged elites to their own snobby egos. When politicians like Zohran Mamdani and Gale Brewer decide to axe hardworking folks’ jobs by 2028, they aren’t protecting animals or helping the community. They’re flexing for their rich friends and appeasing a loud, pampered minority that never cared about the city’s backbone: our workers.

The horse carriages have been part of New York’s identity for over a century. They draw tourists from around the world and keep food on the table for blue-collar families. But apparently, that doesn’t matter to the city’s leadership. The mayor and city council speaker seem perfectly happy to ignore working-class voters. It’s obvious—they didn’t get to their cushy jobs thanks to the people who drive carriages, wash dishes, or pick up trash. The ruling class looks down their noses at anyone who gets their hands dirty.

Let’s be real. This so-called “deal” is classic progressive hypocrisy. Liberals love lecturing everyone about “justice” and “equity,” but when it’s time to make decisions, they trample the regular guy in favor of globalist, anti-tradition talking points. They act like getting rid of horse carriages will solve the city’s problems, all while crime surges, subways break down, and taxes drown small businesses.

Folks who push for these bans claim to “protect animals.” But what they’re really protecting is their own sense of moral superiority. What about the people whose lives depend on these jobs? What about defending tradition? In the end, these elites would rather wipe out jobs than lift a finger to help those outside their luxury echo chambers. They care more about posting selfies with “Save the Horses” signs than facing the fallout for American workers.

The attack on Central Park’s carriage drivers is not about animal welfare—it’s about showing off. It’s about rubbing out a piece of classic New York to feel good at cocktail parties in Manhattan penthouses. This is what happens when out-of-touch liberals rule a city. When will our leaders finally stand up for the real heart of New York—the workers who make it run? Or do they think virtue signaling is more important than our proud American traditions?
