The Supreme Court is finally showing some backbone against activist judges who think they can rewrite the rules whenever it suits their leftist agenda. Once again, the High Court had to step in and smack down the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals for trying to meddle in the Federal Communications Commission’s business about discounted political ads. The liberal courts just can’t help themselves—they always have to tip the scales for their preferred side.
This isn’t the first time the 4th Circuit tried to ignore the law and push their own version of “fairness.” Some bureaucrats decided they knew best about who should get cheaper ad rates. Worse, they wanted to steamroll the process so fast, Americans would barely have time to blink before the rules changed. If the Supreme Court hadn’t stepped in (again), unelected judges would be picking winners and losers in our elections, rather than letting voters decide.
The radical left loves to talk about “democracy” until it’s time to play by the rules. When conservatives win at the ballot box—or in the courts—they cry foul and try to change the game. Now, with the FCC and political ad discounts, the progressives want to make it even easier for their favored groups to flood the airwaves, shutting down the voices of regular Americans. The liberal elites think they get to decide who you hear from—not you.
Every time the 4th Circuit gets slapped down, it’s a win for the rule of law. But it shouldn’t have to come to this. Why do we even have to depend on the Supreme Court to protect basic fairness and keep the left from rigging the system? Maybe if the lower courts stopped acting like the DNC’s lapdogs and started respecting the Constitution, we wouldn’t need these constant interventions.
The real question is: How many times will the Supreme Court need to clean up the mess left by careless, biased judges who care more about pushing their worldview than serving justice? It’s about time the courts remember they serve the American people—not the globalist agenda or the woke mob.
