The shocking truth European elites hide about Turkey and language oppression

Every September, European elites gather to pat themselves on the back for their so-called “diversity” during their European Day of Languages. They claim it’s all about celebrating different languages and cultures. But where are these champions of diversity when a country like Turkey tramples on real linguistic variety? Suddenly, their voices go silent.

Turkey, for years, has waged war on minority languages inside its borders. Instead of protecting historical cultures, Turkey bulldozes them. Is there outrage from all those progressive globalists who can’t stop lecturing Americans about multiculturalism? Of course not. If this were happening in America, liberals would be screaming about racism and oppression. But in Turkey, they act like it’s none of their business.

Let’s be honest. When it comes to “diversity,” leftists only care if it fits their narrative. In Turkey, Kurds and other minority groups are fighting to keep their languages alive. The Turkish government clearly wants everyone speaking the same way, thinking the same way, obeying the state. That’s not just anti-diversity. That’s authoritarianism.

But this is what always happens when you let big government run wild. First, they attack differences. Next, they erase history. Liberals insist that preserving culture is a priority—unless that means standing up to a foreign power. Maybe it’s because Turkey is an important ally for their precious United Nations clubs, or maybe they just don’t want to admit their globalist buddies can get it wrong.

So where is all that righteous outrage now? The hypocrisy is disgusting. Why do American leftists rail about freedom of expression here, but look the other way abroad? It’s simple. Their “values” are for sale, and minorities in Turkey pay the price. It’s a warning—when you let the left control what you can say, you’re one step closer to being silenced for good.
