Democrats are at it again—putting America last. Rob Sand, the Democrat who wants to be Iowa’s next governor, just made it clear where his loyalties lie. When asked if he would support ending H-1B visa hiring at public universities, Sand couldn’t bring himself to stand up for American workers. Instead, he bent over backward defending a system that gives away jobs meant for hardworking Iowans.
Let’s get real. H-1B visas were supposed to fill workforce gaps. Today, they’re used by big institutions to bring in foreign workers—while American grads pile up debt and can’t find jobs. Liberals like Rob Sand love to talk about fairness and opportunity. But when it comes to putting Americans first, suddenly they lose their voice. Are they clueless—or do they just not care about the people whose tax dollars fund those universities?
Public universities should serve the sons and daughters of this country, not be a gateway for globalists to import foreign labor. Every job given to an H-1B hire is a job stolen from an American student who worked hard, paid tuition, and hoped for a fair shot. But the left can’t resist bowing to their global elite buddies and big tech donors.
Rob Sand’s refusal to support ending H-1B visa hiring is more than just bad policy—it’s a slap in the face to every Iowan who wants a good job at home. Iowa’s students deserve better. Their parents deserve to see them have opportunities, not watch those jobs shipped away in the name of “diversity” and “global outreach.”
If Sand can’t even stand up for his own state’s families, why should voters trust him to run their lives? It’s time someone reminded these elites: public universities aren’t international hiring halls. They belong to the people who pay for them. Is loyalty to American workers too much to ask?
