California kids failing math and reading as Newsom claims victory parents are outraged by the truth

California’s education system is failing, and the blame falls squarely on the shoulders of Governor Gavin Newsom and his liberal cronies. While Newsom boasts about so-called “gains” in student achievement, the real numbers tell a far different story. English and math scores across the state are embarrassing, still trailing behind what they were before COVID-19 ever hit. This is not progress. This is a disaster.

Liberals want everyone to applaud them for “trying,” distract from the crashing test scores, and demand more of your tax dollars. The reality? Less than 52% of students can meet basic expectations in English. The numbers for math are even worse—barely scraping together 40% proficiency. That means six out of every ten students can’t do basic math. This is the future that leftist policies have built.

Let’s not pretend this decline is accidental. These results are exactly what happens when radicals put their agenda first: endless shutdowns, woke curriculum, and zero accountability. Instead of focusing on hard work and proven teaching methods, Democrats are more interested in social experiments and pet projects that do nothing to help actual children. Parents see through the charade—real learning is being left behind.

When an analyst dares to speak the truth and call out Newsom’s phony victory lap, the left immediately tries to silence the facts. Their only solution is to twist the narrative, blame the pandemic, or beg for more spending. It’s the same failing playbook every time. Meanwhile, students keep falling further behind, especially those who need real help the most.

It’s a national embarrassment that the progressive stronghold of California can’t even teach half its kids to read or do math at grade level. But hey, Newsom says everything is “better.” If this is success, what on earth does failure look like?
