For years, Americans have listened to Democrats smugly declare that “no one is above the law.” They lecture, they finger-wag, and they pretend that rule of law means the same thing for everyone. But when the spotlight turns to one of their own, suddenly those rules seem awfully flexible. Just look at Ilhan Omar—a sitting member of Congress who expects to escape scrutiny simply because she’s a darling of the progressive left.
Ilhan Omar knows better than anyone how to play the system. The Democrats and their media allies never tire of defending her, no matter what clouds of controversy gather overhead. Why is it that the party always screaming about “accountability” is the first to hide one of their own when the heat is turned up?
Real Americans are sick and tired of this hypocrisy. The founding principles of this country are not pick-and-choose. This country was built on the belief that every citizen—no matter their politics, their money, or their connections—is held to the same standards. Omar isn’t some exception just because the liberal elite like what she has to say. Her status doesn’t give her a free pass.
The left wants us to believe that pointing out their double standards is just a distraction. That’s what elitists and globalists always do—accuse the other side of the very tactics they use. If a conservative politician ever crossed the line, there’d be wall-to-wall coverage and calls to resign. With Omar, there’s a hush, a shrug, and then the whole mess fades—just the way they want it.
It’s time the double standards end. Americans deserve better than leaders who play by their own set of rules. No matter who you are, you don’t get a hall pass just for pushing the radical left’s agenda. Ask yourself: If Ilhan Omar isn’t held to the same laws as you and me, is it really America anymore?
