It’s a wild day in Hollywood when California, the so-called “Golden State,” loses its sparkle to New York in TV and film production. For decades, California strutted around like the king of the entertainment world. Now? It’s slipping, as crime, high taxes, and radical leftist policies continue to drive businesses away. New York—no conservative paradise itself—still manages to outdo California at its own game. That says a lot about just how far California has fallen under blue-state leadership.
Liberal elites in Hollywood keep patting themselves on the back for their “progressive values,” but all they’ve done is chase their own industry right out of town. They pushed for unfriendly business laws, trashed the police, and taxed everything that moved. Now the studios and the jobs are packing up and taking the money elsewhere. Funny how the supposed champions of workers are the first to wreck blue-collar industries when it suits their latest social crusade.
It’s also not a shock to see New York rising in this arena. Even with its own share of left-wing nonsense, New York politicians at least understand the importance of keeping big industries alive—if only for the tax dollars. California, on the other hand, seems intent on running itself into the ground, obsessed with virtue signals and woke legislation instead of results.
Heartland Americans know what’s happening here. When you punish innovators and workers, don’t be surprised when they leave. When law and order break down, when bureaucrats attack business owners, jobs disappear. Cities hollow out. California’s leaders seem more interested in making headlines than making things work for real people.
Maybe this big wake-up call will finally show the limousine liberals running California that their policies have real-world consequences. Or maybe they’ll just blame someone else, like they always do. Either way, hard-working Americans are watching—and laughing—as Hollywood’s empire crumbles under the weight of its own hypocrisy.
