Mayor Mamdani joins the war on cops while crime surges and New Yorkers pay the price

Mayor Zohran Mamdani wants a “comprehensive review” of how the NYPD uses force. Here we go again. Liberals lining up to bash the very police officers who keep our streets safe. The so-called leaders in City Hall act shocked that the NYPD defends itself and the people of New York. It’s clear they have no clue what it’s like to walk a beat or stare down real, violent threats day after day.

Mamdani is pushing the tired narrative that the police are the problem. He’s jumping at every excuse to tie their hands behind their backs. Bureaucrats just love to talk about “reviews” and “reforms,” as if talking will magically make crime disappear. What these politicians really want is to make it harder for cops to do their jobs. Who benefits from these endless “reviews”? Not law-abiding New Yorkers. It’s the crooks, the thugs, the people terrorizing neighborhoods, who reap the rewards while city leaders coddle them.

Why does the left never have anything to say about the skyrocketing violence on city streets? What about the hardworking families who rely on the NYPD to keep them safe? Apparently, protecting criminals’ feelings is more important than stopping real violence. This is what happens when politicians put globalist talking points ahead of common sense. They’re more interested in looking good to some international audience than actually defending their own citizens.

The hypocrisy is staggering. Liberals who enjoy luxury apartments and private security have no issue attacking law enforcement from a distance. But when chaos erupts, you can bet they’ll be the first to dial 911. Meanwhile, the rest of us—those who obey the law—are left to deal with the mess their weakness creates.

Here’s the problem: every time police are second-guessed and humiliated by their own leaders, morale drops. Crime goes up. The city’s biggest threat isn’t a few bad cops. It’s a political class more worried about optics than actual safety. Maybe Mayor Mamdani should spend a night patrolling the streets with the NYPD. Would he still be so eager to question their every move? Or would a taste of reality finally wake him up?
